While the high school basketball season nears the end, it is a great time to focus on what the future will bring…
Having already been featured in DimeMag and BounceMag (two prominent magazine companies in the basketball world), 7th grader Jerron Love is used to the spotlight.
Love is a point guard who is on a different level than his peers.
Although standing at 5’5″, this diminutive and aggressive point guard has a basketball IQ that is unrivaled at this age. Jerron’s father, Jerry, created JerronLoveStudentAthlete.com, in order to promote Jerron’s skills and to help get him to where he wants to be 0n and off the court.
On the website Love is quoted saying, “Basketball is 90% mental, 10% physical. It is all about seeing things before they happen; planning the game out beforehand.”
This type of understanding is extremely impressive, especially considering he is currently a middle school student.
Love’s Youtube videos show him making quick impressive dribble moves that complement an excellent shooting form. His quickness and ability to be deliberate with the ball have helped Love achieve great recognition at such an early stage.
Enjoy the below section which introduces Jerron Love to the Gotham Hoops community. We will cover his recent experiences on and off the court along with his future plans:
I attend Riverdale Country Middle School. Grades are a B. Bball School team Avg. 20 points, 8 assist, 5 rebounds and 3 steals a game. I’ll be attending Riverdale Country again next year and for high school – choosing where I’ll go may be one of the hardest decisions of my life.
My strengths are point guard skills: dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. I can improve my mental and physical toughness. I can improve communicating with my team to build great team chemistry. I like to make sure my teammates show their hands before I pass them ball to help reduce turnover. I’m on a level now, where I can create easy shots for the team and get my buckets.
As Love continues his career, Gotham Hoops will have the updates on the youngster’s where-abouts, on and off the court. Player Journals videos and other features will be posted on the site.
We would love to start getting other players involved with these features, so please e-mail us at GothamHoops@yahoo.com if you are interested in these opportunities.
