Williams Not "Feeling" Visit in NY
This past week, St. Anthony (NJ) power forward, Derrick Williams took a official visit to St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, NY.
St. Bona is an Atlantic-10 conference program who finished in 11th place last season with a 15-15 (6-10) record.
Williams, a 6′6″ 250 lbs. Staten Island, NY native had many things to say about his recent visit. Not including many positive statements.
After saying “the social aspect of the school [is] the only problem I have,” Williams continued to speak the truth about his feelings toward the St. Bona experience.
The aggressive big-man said the relationship with the coaches is good, but also stated, “St. Bonnies is going to always find and have good players, I don’t think they really want me.”
After asking why the rising senior felt “unwanted” by the A-10 school, Williams responded by saying “They offered me but I can’t as of now see myself there.”
“I didn’t enjoy the visit there, everything that was presented to me was great, wasn’t really feeling it though,” says Williams.
Strong words spoken by an even stronger man and basketball player.
Although the visit didn’t go as Williams had hoped, the Bonnies are still on the list of schools the NY native is considering.
Along with St. Bona, Richmond and Penn State are two more scheduled visits.
*Penn State is currently scheduled for Nov. 17th but is “still up in the air”

It’s a shame that Mr Williams feels this way or that the reporter has misrepresented or exaggerated his comments….. since at the Bonnies message board there is nothing but excitement over the potential of both Derrick and Eli Carter joining the Bonnies.
Both together or separately both would have the opportunity to be a big part of the resurgence of our program and cornerstones of the team for 4-years.
Hopefully there is a misunderstanding and Derrick will feel the love that the St. Bonaventure community has for hard working, fundamental sound, mature players who want to exploit there potential as both players and young men!
No comments were misrepresented or exaggerated. Why is it hard to believe that a player simply did not enjoy a college visit? Or that a player tells the truth on how he actually felt.
