Pinkston, now the best player in New York City is one of the more powerful basketball players I’ve seen in along time. Most big men in this sport are strong and have muscle on them, but this rising senior uses his strength accordingly. He knows when to body a defender and when he has a mis-match on the offensive end. A front-court player while with his high school team, Bishop Loughlin, Pinkston will run the floor as a small forward from the wing while on the next level in college. His shooting touch has improved steadily since last season. Having a legitimate jumper in his arsenal really expands Pinkston’s game. He does need to broaden his one on one moves when on the perimeter but he has the ability to take his defender off the dribble with much more ease then in the past. The 6’5” senior needs to improve his ball-handling while on the fast break. He is a monster under the boards and is one tough athlete to keep out of the paint. – August 12th R.A.
