Hey world,

This is Jamel Torrence. I’m a sophomore at Suffield Academy. School here is both fun and challenging.

When it gets down to school work it’s all about working hard and doing what you have to do. Especially in prep school because teachers hold you accountable for everything. Class work is very hard, but it is because they set high expectations for their students so when you get to college you are prepared.

I’m starting on the varsity team here. I had to work hard to get my starting spot. My responsibility on the team is to the run show and play defense. As a sophomore it didn’t look as if I was going to start this year, but coach came to me that I am. Our record if 8-5, but we are 7-2 in league play.

Now it’s just about continuing to work hard, get better and try to win the NEPSAC B championship this year.
